Water sampling of Lake Metigoshe is a collaboration that includes Roland Township, the Lake Metigoshe Improvement Association and the Lake Metigoshe Recreation Service District.

The main focus of the sampling is to check for unacceptable levels of E. Coli. A nitrate test is performed on the first round of testing, usually in June. 

Acceptable levels of Nitrates are less than 10 mg per Liter.

Acceptable levels of E.Coli are less than 126 colonies per 100 ml.
